Gandhi - His Influence in the Nonviolent Movement I think Mohandas Gandhi was one of the most significant persons in the 20th century. He was the one who proved that it is possible to fight very successful without violence. He fought his whole life with humanity, tolerance, ideas and without violence. He showed the way to a better world. And still today there are many people who love him and who use his philosophy to change the world. A very important example is the fight against wars. Usually people who fight against a war try to fight without violence. They march through cities and try to convince people not to go to the war or something like that. Another very popular example is the fight against nuclear energy or nuclear weapons. Demonstrators sit on the road in front of a nuclear power station or block the way of trucks or trains, which carry nuclear waste. Or, very popular example, the French tests of nuclear weapons in the pacific. People opposed them and the press all over the world was talking about these tests. That was non-violent resistance. Marches all over the world and other non-violent actions. And another good example is "Greenpeace". They fight for the nature and their most important weapon is the public. They don't use violence but they use the press. The actions, they do are very spectacular and interesting for the whole world. Many people all over the world agree with what they are doing. An example for not using violence even if others use it against them was when they went very close to where the French wanted to test their nuclear weapons and the French soldiers entered their boat and destroyed lots of things and hit the Greenpeace activists. And all that was filmed by Greenpeace and these pictures were sent all over the world and came in the news everywhere. Also Martin Luther King didn't use violence in his fight for the rights of the black people in America. An example, which all of us see and experience from time to time is the strike. Gandhi made the strike as a way of fighting popular and it is still used today very often. At the start of the 20th century the British Empire was the biggest empire in the world. India was it's biggest colony and was very important to Britain. Gandhi managed to get India independent of the British. The biggest Empire in the world lost a war of independence against a country like India which not even used violence and good weapons for it's fights. That was a sign for the world. And especially for the other countries ruled by the British. It was then that many of those countries saw their chance for independence. Gandhi showed them the way. And that was one of the main causes for the independence of many of those countries. In the 1960's most colonies in Africa became independent and also Indochina became independent. I think that was also one of the things Gandhi caused or helped causing. Gandhi fought for the rights of minorities and people who were pushed down his whole life. He encouraged every one to stand up for their rights and to fight against cruelty. He showed the whole world how easy it is to fight for rights and how successful it can be if there are many people fighting for the same thing together. Many people in the whole world decided to start fighting for their rights when they realized how successful Gandhi was. That was the start of many fights for humanity and for rights of minorities. Good examples are the fights of the blacks in North America. Especially Martin Luther King fought under the influence of things Gandhi had said. Or the fights in South America under Ch? Guevara or even the fights of Aborigines in Australia. But those are only a few examples. Fights for rights happened and still happen all over the world again and again because there are always people who push others down. I think Gandhi played a big part in the fight for humanity and the rights of minorities. I think Gandhi was and is still a very significant person. He changed people's minds and opened lots of peoples minds. Still today when people see the movie that was made about his life and his fights they think about

Prosopopoeia s in Rhetoric A figure of speech in which an absent or imaginary person is represented as speaking is called  prosopopoeia. In classical rhetoric, its a type of personification or impersonation. Prosopopoeia was one of the exercises used in the training of future orators. In The Arte of English Poesie (1589), George Puttenham called prosopopoeia the counterfeit impersonation. Etymology From the Greek,  prà ³sopon  face, person, and  poià ©in  to make, to do. Using animals as lab rats is cruel and unfair. Most animal abuse or cruelty goes on with nothing be reported or said about. The punishment for abusing an animal isnt as harsh as it should be. There are not enough laws preventing animal abuse. There are not enough laws preventing animal abuse. Animals being caged up is unfair to the animals themselves. The cruelness of caging an animal up for days, weeks, months, or even years at a time with no food, water or care is the cruelest thing any human being could possibly ever do. Cruelty and neglect are also two subjects that have to deal with animal abuse. Most animal abuse goes unreported and nothing has been done to fix the problem of owners locking their pet up and leaving them for long periods of time without food, water, or care. The most common form of animal abuse has to do with an owner locking their dog or pet up for times on end, just completely neglecting them and not giving them any care or attention. More than half the cases involving animal cruelty had to do with pets. There are little laws about animal abuse or animal cruelty. In some states its actually taken seriously like in Colorado abusing or putting an animal through any kind of cruelty is a $500,000 fine, up to 6 years in jail, and a ban on owning or being around any form of living animal. Colorado is the only state to have a fine over $150,000. (U.S. Cruelty Laws Felony vs. Misdemeanor, 2011) The state with the smallest fine is Tennessee which has no fine for abusing or putting any kind of animal through cruelty.(U.S. Cruelty Laws Felony vs. Misdemeanor, 2011) The two states that have the most time that you can get up to in jail are Alabama and Louisiana at, up to ten years in jail.(U.S. Cruelty Laws Felony vs. Misdemeanor, 2011) The laws that we have now arent enforced enough as they should be. There isnt enough attention being given to this subject as there should be. There are laws about animal cruelty and abuse but arent used as much as they should be. We dont recognize animal abuse as much as we should either. There are animals being abused, tortured, or neglected every day that no one reports, notices, or does anything about. The rights that animals have now arent given to the animals like they should be or where created to be. Animal abuse isnt a case that most people look as a highly serious problem. The rights that we have given to animals or pets or have created for them arent highly used as much or given to an animal as much as they should be. Using animals as lab rats is looked down upon and felt that it shouldnt be done but yet people still test on animals all the time and nothing is done about it. Scientists do research and study on rats because they are said to be unneeded, but yet they are living therefore they are needed. If that was how everyone thought of animals we would have none left on our planet. Animals are a big role in our lives today we use them for almost everything we do and thinking that some one would neglect, torture, or abuse an animal is just wrong. Most animals that are in animal abuse or cruelty cases are pets because of a domestic dispute.(Facts About Animal Abuse and Domestic Violence, 2011) Some parents even abuse their pet in front of their child to coerce them to do what they say and what the child is told to do.(Facts About Animal Abuse and Domestic Violence, 2011) More households have pets than they do children so why spend money on an animal that is going to be a pet if your just going to abuse it?(Facts About Animal Abuse and Domestic Violence, 2011) Most families have a pet of which they consider a companion or a part of the family. Out of the 50 states there are only three that do not have animal abuse or cruelty laws.(U.S. Cruelty Laws Felony vs. Misdemeanor, 2011) If they do not fix animal abuse or animal cruelty soon we will have no more animals in the future. Hopefully in the future they will create better and more laws against abuse or cruelty, or they will pay more attention to animals being abused or not being given their rights. The rights that we have now for animals are perfectly fine its just that the animals arent given the rights they deserve to be given or have. If the government would follow through on paying attention to the case of animals being abused or treated unfair itself, there would be harsher punishment for an act as of doing so. Giving animals the rights they deserve is how it should be instead of using animals as lab rats, test subjects, or a teenagers thought of just a prank, when really in realization pushing a cow over on its back as just a prank can be very deadly for the cow actually. Animals arent given that much of their rights as they have to begin with. If they were to investigate and go deeper into the topic and subject of animals being abused there would be a lot of things that they would find out that they didnt know. Harsher punishment is another thing to talk about. If they had harsher punishment just for neglecting an animal and not taking care of it there would be a lot more animals safe. If there was harsher punishment for abusing an animal there wouldnt be as many animals getting abused, beaten, or neglected. Animal abuse, cruelty, and neglect are bad and animals arent given the rights they deserve. There are not enough laws preventing animal abuse.

JD Salinger, also known as Jerome David Salinger, is an American novelist and short story writer. Critics and readers alike recognize Salinger as one of the most popular and influential writers. His only novel, The Catcher in the Rye, drew such great attention during the fifties and sixties that those years have been called the age of Holden Caulfield (Contemporary Literary Critiscm, Vol. 12). Salinger is a master of contemporary dialect and idiomatic expression. He created in Holden Caulfield a character who became the prototype of alienated adolescence for an entire generation of Americans. The Catcher in the Rye has been banned even recently from a few libraries, schools, and bookstores for the starkness of its language and attitudes and the realism of some of its settings.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Although Salinger has fallen out of critical favor because of his sentimentality, it is generally agreed that Catcher has yet to be surpassed in its portrayal of the pains and pleasures of a youth searching for love and direction. In all his work Salinger draws upon the experience of his own life. For instance, his parents shared the same backgrounds as do those of his fictive Glass family. An undistinguished student, Salinger flunked out of private high school. His family sent him to Valley Forge Military Academy, the model the Catcher’s Pencey Prep (Contemporary Literary Criticism Vol. 3).   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The protagonist of The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield, is one of these American heroes, but with a significant difference. He seems to be engaged in both sorts of quests at once; he needs to go home and he needs to leave it. Unlike the other American knight errants, Holden seeks Virtue second to love. He wants to be good. When the little children are playing in the rye-field on the clifftop, Holden wants to be the one who catches them before they fall off the cliff. Like these American heroes, Holden is a wanderer, for in order to be good he has to be more of a bad boy than the puritanical Huck could have imagined. Holden has had enough of both Hannibal, Missouri, and the Mississippi; and his tragedy is that when he starts back up the river, he has no place to go- save, of course, a California psychiatrist’s couch (Contemporary Literary Criticism, Vol. 12).   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Holden’s quest takes him outside socie... ...oment always becoming a segment of the past. Holden views his life as being in a state of continual change. Since a developed intellect is needed to realize immutable conceptions, and since Holden’s â€Å"thinking† is limited to his sense of the mutability of life, Holden remains trapped within time, unable to recognize anything permanent in human existence (Contemporary Literary Criticism, Vol. 5).   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  One might conclude by stressing that Holden is talking, not to an analyst, but to you, the reader. Holden is talking directly to anyone who might be as â€Å"troubled morally and spiritually† as Holden was about the nature of this world in which everyone exists. He offers his narration of The Catcher in the Rye as a record of his troubles for anyone who might wish to learn from his experiences. Canadian Culture vs US

We are a nation of immigrants who celebrate everybody cultural background. Canadians are extremely conscious of our culture considering our close proximity to the United States. We are unduly aware that we are not American and constantly compare ourselves to America. Canadians forever talk about our similarities and differences socially, economically, politically and religiously. One of the things that Canada is most proud of Is that we consider ourselves to be a cultural mosaic which means that we allow various cultures to coincide and flourish in our communities.We value harmony, equality, freedom, and respect. Our population is not big enough to sustain our economy, so we are much more open to economic Immigration. Economically, we have much higher taxes providing us with a more socialized system. This allows free health care and decent education systems for all Canadian citizens. Due to this system, we do not have the same amount of money to spend on â€Å"stuff', which makes us a less materialistic population. We have less disposable income and less disparity between the rich and poor.In regards to religion, we do not have a dominant religion and accept all religions across the globe. Americas, on the other hand, identify themselves as mainly Christian. According too Pew Research Religion and Public Life survey taken in 2007, 78. 4% of Americans identified themselves as Christian, where as Canadians have an ever-changing religious composition. Politically, we have a parliamentary system of government which is more unified and group-oriented; we elect a party, not a person.Like the LISA, our government Is a mockery which means the people choose their own government and majority rules but In a parliamentary system, a minority government must find consensus with the other parties or the government will fall. Canada's values are built on acceptance, tolerance, and harmony. We are patriotic, but in the way that we accept people world-wide and celebrate the com bination of Canadian and other cultures intertwining. I am proud to be a Canadian citizen and feel privileged to have grown up in a city as diverse, inclusive, and nondiscriminatory as Toronto.Being exposed to people with arioso religious beliefs, racial backgrounds, and birthplaces shaped me into an accepting and globally aware citizen. One of my favorite things about Toronto is the fact that we celebrate cultural, social and ethnic acceptance year-round. For example, this summer I went to multiple festivals that celebrated Turnoffs diversity. We hosted World Pride 2014, which celebrated the LIGHT community, Fusion of Taste festival which honored diverse cultural food, Franco-fete which celebrated Torso's French speaking community, Chinatown festival which showcased Chinese culture,Busters which lauded artistic performances from around the world. Toronto is frequently commended for being one of the most multicultural cities in the world. There are over 140 languages spoken, half of our population was born outside of Canada, and almost fifty percent of the population define themselves as a visible minority. Toronto is a true cultural mosaic and due to this fact Transitions are open-minded, accepting, tolerant, and polite. I am grateful to have been raised in a city that is proud to integrate and pay tribute to various cultural backgrounds.

Here, they're feeling a specific pain, but they may not understand what solutions exist. For example, imagine they're a marketing manager who's totally overwhelmed. Their team is missing deadlines. They're stuck in constant fire drills. And are battling constant stress around being a good leader. At this point, they won’t know how to solve this pain. They're simply aware that it exists and looking for a fix. Third, they've learned there’s a cure for the pain. They're pain aware when they know there's a way out... But they haven't yet matched the pain to a specific solution. Fourth, they've learned knows you can solve their pain. Now they are product aware, which means they know that your product is one of the solutions to their pain.   They're actively searching... They're combing through reviews on G2 Crowd... They're checking out Product Hunt... And (hopefully) they're finding all of your wonderful content core topics because of your SEO mastery! In short, this is where you're going head-to-head with your competition. Fifth, they know you're the best solution to their pain. They've arrived at the wonderful stage called most aware! They believe you're the best solution for their pain, and they're ready to try or buy. They're ready for a trial, a sales call, or even a purchase. And this is where you have your qualified leads 😎   Write Compelling CTAs For Trial Signups In SaaS marketing, free trials are the norm - and a perfect next step. But what's vital is that you set the table for success. The five stages of awareness help you bridge education gaps. And also deeply connect your audience's pain with your solution. War at EL-Alamein The Battle of El Alamein, started either between October 23rd or November 5th in 1942. This battle was one of the largest battles involving the western allies in the whole of the war with Germany. El Alamein was part of the chain of battles that saw the British Common wealth forces advancing across the coastal plain and desert hinterland of North Africa from 1940 to 1943. The prize for the Axis (German and Italian forces under the command of the German general, Erwin Rommel) was Egypt and the Suez Canal. The destruction of the Axis forces in the Theatre was the focus of Allied operations. El Alamein was, in effect the closest the Axis came to achieving their goal. Once that battle was over, the Axis forces were in continual retreat until finally destroyed, in Tunisia on 11 May 1943, by the westward advancing 8th Army and the Allied Forces coming east from the Torch Landings.Second Battle of El Alamein, Deployment of Forces ...While perhaps too much has been made of the battle of El A lamein - including such clearly jingoistic assessments that it was the turning point in the war - the battle was very important for a number of reasons. It was the battle that reignited Bernard Montgomery's career, with him eventually rising to the highest rank in the British Army and to command Allied land forces in the D-Day landings. It was an early rehearsal for the type of joint operations that were to become standard allied operating procedures in north west Europe following the D-Day invasion.
